Golf Course Superintendent
David grew up in the Greater Atlanta area and graduated from Brookwood High School in Gwinnett County. After High School, Dave received a baseball scholarship to Young Harris College in North Georgia.
Soon after round one of college, David went to work for Champions Club of Gwinnett (now called Gwinnett Country Club) on the grounds crew. He also worked a summer internship at Greenwich Country Club in Connecticut, proving to be an invaluable experience. Soon after, he was promoted to the Irrigation Technician position at his golf course. And then, the following spring, promoted again to Assistant Superintendent.
His next exciting opportunity in his golf centric career was the “grow in” of Nicklaus Golf Club at Birch River. After moving to Dahlonega in 2000, David and Jeff Bridwell oversaw the construction and “grow in” of the beautiful golf course we now know as Achasta. Adding to the excitement of this wonderful opportunity, David was invited to caddy for Jack Nicklaus during his inaugural round! David was also responsible for heading the newly completed Audubon Cooperate Sanctuary certification for Achasta this past year.
David completed his Environmental Horticulture degree in 2005. That fall he married Sabrina who is a Sales Director in the golf business too. David and Sabrina live and love Dahlonega and are proud to call it home.
